updated Sealed Pot Challenge Dec 2013 – Dec 2014

I was so happy with my results from the 2012 Challenge (Dec 2012 – Dec 2013), that I’m taking part again this year.

Saving to pay off a loan

$536
$10,000

I will try to update this weekly; at any rate, you will be able to watch as I move closer to my goal. It’s been a lot of fun finding ways to save (or paying fines when I could have and didn’t – that was my own idea, it’s not part of the challenge). I even found money a couple of times! The $536.91 is what I saved last year. Not a lot, given the big picture, but a step forward is a step forward, right? (and a penny saved is a penny saved lol)

You can jump in any time; just let Mrs. SFT know you want to take part.  ~ Linne (Jan2014)

Here is my Sealed Pot!
In one picture, you can see the slot I made for $$ to go in, but not out (-;

The Statue of Liberty, designed and cast in France, stands for freedom from debt for me. The money I save will go to help pay off the debt I incurred when out of work for a year in 2008-2009. I plan to decorate the ‘pot’ a bit more this week or next.

The ‘pot’ holds $10 CDN to start me off. The challenge is in its fifth week, but I’m a late starter, as I only heard of it in its second or third week, then took time to find a suitable container.

  1. I’m doing very well with the Sealed Pot Challenge and with the other challenges, too. Except the Walk a Week one . . . but I did get in quite a bit of walking last week, so things may be progressing there, too. Frugal eating I’ve been doing all my life, so that one is easy. I’m not part of the Read a Book a Month one, though, as I’m not willing to restrict myself that much; I read at least two books a week, often more. Wonder why it’s taking forever to get things made . . .

    • Thank you so much! I’ve got a ‘bug’ now; when I’m better, I still plan to add some decorative details. Will upload more pictures once that is done.

    • SFT, I was excited to see the pictures of my Pot on your blog this week! Thanks again for choosing to feature it. I still have not modified it, but will let you know once that’s done. ~ Linne

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I look forward to reading your comments. ~ Linne
